This summer you may be asking yourself “What fun activities can I do that are free or low cost?” You may have more free time to travel locally or check out local attractions. The thought of classes and homework are a distance memory this summer, giving you time to enjoy some activities or trips you may have been planning. Don’t sit around this summer worrying about not having enough money to enjoy the short summer in New England. There are lots of free outdoor activities, such as the beach, hiking trails, bike riding or walking. Enjoy the warm weather by grabbing some of your friends to have a pick up volleyball, tennis, or basketball game for exercise instead of going to the gym.

What activities can I do on a low budget?

Did you know that most local libraries in the SAILS (Southeastern Libraries) network offer reduced-price admission to local area museums, zoos, and other attractions? Many of these passes include major discounts to attractions in Boston and throughout New England. Each library has their own set of rules when using these passes so contact your local library to take advantage of this great program. Another great source of discounts in your area is through or These online websites offer discounts on deals in your area to restaurants, personal services, fitness programs, and local events or shows.
