PACK logoWhat is Project PACK?

Project PACK is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting victims of sexual assault throughout Massachusetts with Post-Assault Comfort Kits. This organization began its work in 2006 when the need was first recognized and became officially incorporated in June 2013. The support for this program has grown and so has the number of patients covered by the program. Initially, the PACKs were distributed to hospitals located only on the South Shore in Massachusetts. In 2012, Project PACK expanded to distribute to hospitals located throughout the entire state.

How can I contribute to Project PACK?

PAckThe BSU Peer Educators have partnered with local volunteers to assist survivors statewide by providing them with a small bag of necessary items. Many hospital nurses working directly with sexual assault survivors received numerous requests for these items during the detailed evidence collection process. Donation baskets, located throughout campus will be available until April 28, 2017. Since the program was started on campus, the BSU community has donated 400 complete kits and enough materials to create an additional 300 kits when combined with donations from other groups. We need your help to continue to make these bags possible.

Each bag contains the following items:

  • Individually wrapped toothbrush
  • Travel-size body lotion
  • Travel-size toothpaste
  • Travel-size deodorant
  • Travel-size mouthwash
  • Gum/mints
  • Travel-size pack of tissues
  • Lip balm
  • Individually wrapped panty liner
  • Socks
  • Individually wrapped wet wipe
  • Hair elastic
  • Underwear (often taken into evidence)
  • Comb or Brush
